Rainbow Jackets

Check out the Bubble Family, Charlie the Fly, Quarkum's stroppy umbrella, the creatures that live in your kitchen drawers and the sneaky socks that can divide and multiply behind everyone's backs

Following last years release of A Glassful of Giggles, this new anthology of short stories for reading or telling to young children, released on 1st October, 2003, brings you a new bundle of laughs.
Check out the family of bubbles with whisper-soft voices, Kelsey’s pet fly, Charlie, Quarkum’s wickedly willful umbrella, the crazy creatures who live in everyone’s kitchen drawers and the mysteriously mathematical socks that insist on dividing at home and multiplying at school.

The stories are very short –  less than 400 words each. Some are reminiscent of the magical stories from days gone by – the Wirra Wirra Bird that sets the kitchen utensils dancing, the Humptee Umbrella that bothers Quarkum the witch. Others are more contemporary – I can’t find any socks and Charlie Forever tell stories of everyday children.

      Barbara Dobson, Reading Time

‘Rainbow Jackets is a lively collection of short stories, it is visually appealing and a great read for seven to 10 year olds.
