Elaine is a full time writer. How­ever, she was a teacher and has had many years of expe­ri­ence pre­sent­ing lit­er­a­ture to chil­dren in class­rooms. Because of this expe­ri­ence she is able to offer stim­u­lat­ing work­shops, author talks and sto­ry­telling ses­sions for chil­dren of Pri­mary and Lower Sec­ondary age and pro­fes­sional devel­op­ment for adults.

Ses­sions can be tai­lored to the indi­vid­ual needs of your class or group and can cover a range of topics.

Using some of her own early drafts with the stu­dents, Elaine For­re­stal will demon­strate the draft­ing process, encour­age the stu­dents to re-draft their own work and com­ment on their devel­op­ing writing.

Other aspects of writ­ing such as how to make your ideas work on paper; which com­pe­ti­tions to enter or pub­lish­ers to approach; and how best to present your work will also be covered.
